My Actions
Visit to Second Grade: First. My grade and I visited our second grade at our school and we had to teach them about Conservation and the animal that each of the students picked and researched. Of course I picked African Elephants. This was really fun because my target audience was little 2nd Grade minds. My second Grade activities were elephant face painting, elephant coloring pages and then i printed some stickers from the conservation group called IWORRY and handed them out.
Website: My second main action was making a website. This is it. I think this was the hardest action, although it is really fun to play around with pictures and text and things like that. I felt it was hard to find time to work on this. My goal was to put all my information from my whole journey through this unit and put in this website so that you and many more could read all my facts and information.
Letter to C.I.T.E.S: Finally, further into my project. I have decided to write a letter to C.I.T.E.S which stands for Conservation Of International Trade Of Endangered Species. In the letter I want to support their actions towards stopping the international sale of ivory. This is hard because not only does it have to be formal but it also has to be reasonable and understandable, but I need to try to help make a solution to this horrible disaster!
Inspiration from IWORRY and WWF. IWORRY and WFF are both organizations that help the elephants and lately i have been really interested and fascinated in their research and all their hard work. This has encouraged me to become better at what i am doing and what i would like to do in the future. IWORRY and WWF have really helped me with all my information and facts through my study. They are also really good sites if you would like to learn more about African elephants and the ivory trade.
